Christopher O’Brien
Personal Trainer
Christopher has been a personal trainer for a good many years with lots of experience and has trained a great deal of people from various abilities as well as backgrounds.
Having a personal training business know as chrisxskipfit because jump roping is one of if not the best way to turn fat while gaining stamina this is why it is a key component for boxers and my favourite cardio training.
Dance therapy is done twice a week with a beautiful young man that has learning difficulties, this Chris finds a fulfilling, enjoyable and extremely rewarding being able to explore an individuals potential while helping with mobility.
Chris is a family friendly personal trainer. Training many couples and sometimes the whole family attend, children are welcome to attend sessions, and even their dogs come along too.
Chris is an inclusive trainer, where all are welcome, whatever the ability, he can support and train to a bespoke programme,
My background is in dancing. As a dancer I was inspired by my dance teacher Stuart Thomas, who is a hall of fame Tai Chi and Tae Bo champion. During which time I slowly found that I really love not only all forms of dance but exercise in general like skipping, plyometrics, circuit training which in many ways are related to movement.
I have always had a desire and an interest to work with people that have special needs, as a result I am able to incorporate what I learnt in dance to work with anyone that has a learning difficulty or physical restrictions. As a dance therapist I am passionate about enabling people to be creative and enjoy movement with all the benefits and the rewards that come with being a creative person as well as working in group settings.
Running the sessions has given me a tremendous opportunity to learn about people in general, what motivates them and how to work with different types of bodies in terms of how the different bodies move. What I've come to understand is that each and every single person is unique in the sense that no two bodies are the same, no two bodies move the same, moreover that nature does not replicate, each and every person is unique and individual in every aspect of they being
People who inspire me to never give up: Muhammed Ali, Floyd Mayweather and Connor McGregor
What inspires me: People inspire me... because I love to see anyone with courage, determination & heart, who push his or herself past the pain, mental blocks and more importantly day to day struggles to become better and the best that they can be - this is a personal journey.
